EU VAT lookup for Claude

An MCP connector that lets Claude check EU VAT numbers in VIES, the European Commission's VAT Information Exchange System: whether a number is valid for intra-EU trade and, where the member state shares them, the registered name and address. It covers the EU member states and Northern Ireland. No account or API key is needed.

Add it to Claude

1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
2. Give it a name, e.g. EU VAT lookup, paste the URL above and add it. There is no sign-in step.
3. In a chat, make sure the connector is switched on in the tools menu, then ask, e.g. "Is SE559033902301 a valid VAT number?"

On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds the connector under Organization settings → Connectors; members then connect it in Settings → Connectors.
